String Finger Art & Ochre
The Art Of String Theory presents an Indigenous String Finger Art Experience. A looped piece of string is woven between the fingers, teeth, neck, toes or even other peoples fingers and hands to create Crocodiles, Water Lilly’s, Turtles, Dugongs, Out-rigger Canoes, Stars, Butterflies, Dragonflies and coastal lifestyle String Finger Art shapes. We can also explore weapons, Transport and Shelter and stella navigation shapes. This Ancient Art form, Kamut, shares an insight into Coastal Aboriginal and Pacific Island cultures as traditionally shared. Children are introduced to shapes, culture and nature from birth as String Finger Art is a kind of Library of sorts for a tribal cultures.
Length of Time : 90 minutes
Target Market : 7-10 yrs and 11-17
Size Of Group : maximum 10 children per session, plus one parent for the 7-10 years (parent attends for free)
